Alfred Hitchcock was known as The Master of Suspense for good reason. His body of work and his long career delivering suspense and intrigue kept moviegoers on the edge of their seats for decades and rereleases of his work continues to engage viewers and deliver.
Hitchcock’s brand and style became known as “Hitchcockian” because other filmmakers began to learn from him, leverage his themes and elements, pay homage and even copy his style. So much so, that critics and fans began to notice the Hitchcock-like flair behind movies not touched by the Master of Suspense.
A new book, Hitchcockian: Non Hitchcock Films with the Hitchcock Flair is now in print and ebook and looks at a vast collection of films that pay tribute to the renowned director. To highlight the new book, but follow a different path, this series looks at a series of films not chronicled directly in the book, but fitting the theme.
